Below you can find information about open positions at our Chair. All open positions are in the Würzburg lab. We do not hire new personell in our Zurich lab.
Moreover, please note that - as a general rule - we do not offer internships (see exceptions below).
PhD Student Position
We currently have an open position for a PhD student working in the GenAIDE project.
GenAIDE (Generative AI for Industrial Design Engineering) is a Marie-Skłodowska Curie Doctoral Network (DN) funded by the European Union with the objective to research and develop collaborative AI systems that partner with engineers for next generation industrial engineering design. In the network, 14 Doctoral Candidates will carry out research at 16 leading academic and industrial partners, including:

- University Leiden
- Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg
- Altair Engineering GmbH
- University Jyvaskyla
- University of Manchester
- Kone Oyi
The candidates will have the opportunity to visit various partners in the network, supported by a mobility allowance. At the Chair of Machine Learning for Complex Networks we are looking for one candidates as research scientists in the GenAIDE project, which will engage in a collaboration with our partners DATEV eG and Honda Research GmbH. The specific focus of this position is the use of AI to support software development teams.
Successful applicants must hold an excellent MSc degree (or equivalent, e.g. Diploma) in an AI-related discipline, e.g. computer science, mathematics, engineering, or natural sciences. Applicants must also have proven software engineering skills as well as experience with web technologies and data visualization.
Excellent language skills in English are a precondition for this position.

Internships and Research Visits
As a general rule, we do not host research internships!
Rare exceptions are made in special cases, e.g. based on an existing collaboration on a specific research topic that promises synergies between the visiting student and one or more members of our team.
