From October 27–28, the PR- and AIMI-lab took part in the Bavarian Conference on AI in Medicine, held at the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Munich.

Xingjian Kang joined the Pattern Recognition group at CAIDAS as a PhD Student under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Katharina Breininger in October 2025.

In September, AIMI member Anne Tjorven Büßen presented her work titled “Insights into Workflow Phase Recognition in Interventional Neuroradiology” at this year’s annual CURAC meeting in Heidelberg.

Dominik Perrin has joined the Pattern Recognition group at CAIDAS as a PhD student under supervision of Katharina Breininger in August 2025.

For the first time since Katharina took over the Professorship for Pattern Recognition at Julius-Maximilians-Universität, this year’s PR-AIMI summer social event took us to the Würzburg region.

At this year’s EULAR European Congress of Rheumatology, AIMI researcher Maja Schlereth presented her latest abstract entitled “Development of a Deep Learning-Based Tool for the Automated Grading of Synovitis and Classification of Arthritis Using Ultrasound Imaging”.

At this year’s BVM workshop in Regensburg, researchers and students from the Pattern Recognition Group and the AIMI lab showcased their work on diverse medical imaging topics.
